Extensions Dance Project is a New Jersey-based company of dancers looking to continue their passion for dance and choreography outside of their professions. Participation in Extensions comes with weekly in-studio rehearsals, live performances, professional dance photoshoots and access to open dance classes.

The 2023-2024 season is a commitment from Fall through the Spring, rehearsing from September through May with two scheduled performances. Our Fall performance will be the final show in a series for Morris County Dance Festival Week, and will offer company members the opportunity to choreograph and perform a variety of dance styles, including contemporary, jazz, heels, tap, hip hop and more. The Spring performance will be a 30 minute Extensions Dance Project company piece with external dance companies invited to submit their works to be performed in the second half of our show in a dance festival format.

Rehearsals are held weekly on Wednesday nights from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at our partner studio, Studio Allegro in Madison, NJ (300 Main St, Madison, NJ 07940). The studio is located in a shopping center with plenty of free parking, and is minutes from downtown Madison and in close proximity to both Madison Station and Convent Station via NJ Transit trains.

Our performance space for the 2023-2024 season is the Madison Community Arts Center (10 Kings Rd, Madison, NJ 07940). It is located in downtown Madison, steps away from Madison Station, and has surrounding free street parking. Our performances are slated for Saturday, December 2nd and Saturday, May 4th. 

Audition

• This season's company audition was held on Wednesday, September 13th at Studio Allegro in Madison, NJ from 7:30-9:30 p.m. At the audition, choreographers taught a section of their group pieces in various dance styles. Audition applications are currently closed for this year.

Choreography

• Choreographer applications are currently closed.

Please note, even if you are selected as a choreographer, you must participate in the full audition. Given the size of our spaces and level of dance experience our current company members have, not everyone who auditions will be invited to join the company.

For the 2023-2024 season, the total cost to participate is $200. Payments could be paid in full by October 1st, or in three installments:

• 50% ($100) due by October 1st, 2023

• 25% ($50) due by November 1st, 2023

• 25% ($50) due by December 1st, 2023

Payments can be fulfilled via Venmo, PayPal or other approved methods. Participation in Extension Dance Project comes with Fall and Spring weekly in-studio rehearsals, two live performances, one professional dance photoshoot in the Fall and one in the Spring and free access to our Weekend Workshops.

Weekend Workshops are 100% optional, as they are included in the cost to participate in Extensions Dance Project though we understand not everyone can make it on a weekend!

If you would like to get involved, we invite you to attend one of our two Weekend Workshops, taking place on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, and Saturday, March 9th, 2024, at Studio Allegro in Madison, NJ. The workshops will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., offering three back-to-back one-hour classes in different styles per weekend session.
